Planning and Preperation

Over the weekend I found out that our fearless leader for  our Philmont trek  has been given a new position at his work and in doing so he has promoted me to Dude in Charge. I am now responsible for training, meals for training weekends, and making sure everyone has what they need. Not only is this quite an honor but it also is going to be quite a bit of work especially since our first training weekend is in only a few weeks.  So lots of great stories to come and hopefully lots of great photos.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and don’t forget you still have some time left to get your name into the drawing for the  Solio Mono Solar Battery Charger.

Happy Trails

Adam

Thanks. I think it might be an official military title. :-D

Please share with us how your planning goes. I would love to hear details of your planning activities as well as how you divide planning between yourself and the Scouts.

Sure I can do that. I think out first meeting / shake down in a couple of weekends will really help set things up.

Stp has a discount on packages of back country kitchen meals. 2 people for 3 days for $31. Never used them, but might be worth the look.
