Whats inside my emergency Kit

photo(1)Do you carry an emergency kit when you go out backpacking? I carry my kit with me even on small day trips, but before I talk about what is in my emergency kit let me explain first what an emergency kit is. My emergency kit has a mixture of survival tools, first aid items, as well as repair items that this kit would only ever be opened if necessary.  I also carry a small first aid kit that I will be talking about in a later post.

    Nice post Adam! Surprised to see it all is just under 6 ounces, which is great. What bag do you have it all in – looks like cuben fiber?

    When I went to Alaska with my wife I got a cat-gut suture kit from a local vet. I had to promise to only use it for emergencies and seek qualified medical help when I got out of the woods.
