Camping season has begun for most of America and according to Yonder they know where the most popular camping spots are.

With more than 22,000 campgrounds across the country, how is a camper to decide where to pitch a tent? Yonder, the leading outdoor recreation mobile app and platform, gathered information from more than 300,000 outdoor enthusiasts about their favorite places to go camping.

According to the study, the top 10 places in the U.S. to go camping are:

  • Yosemite National Park 17%
  • Great Smokey Mountains National Park 14%
  • Grand Canyon National Park 13%
  • Zion National Park 13%
  • Joshua Tree National Park 8%
  • Arches National Park 8%
  • Linville Gorge Wilderness National Forest 7%
  • Glacier National Park 7%
  • Big Bend National Park 7%
  • Canyonlands National Park 6%

The research also identified the most popular places for hiking:

  • Great Smoky Mountains National Park: 17%
  • Zion National Park 14%
  • Grand Canyon 12%
  • Yosemite 12%
  • Rocky Mountain National Park 10%
  • Arches National Park 9%
  • Wichita Mountain National Wildlife Refuge 7%
  • Mount Rainer National Park 7%
  • Red Rock Canyon 6%
  • Glacier National Park 6%
