Philmont 2002 Backpacking Trip – Trail Journal Revisited – Day 7

Categories:Philmont 2002

We hiked from Apache Springs Camp  to Clear Creek Camp today. It was a heck of a walk. We hiked over two peaks and stopped in a valley with a stream to refill out water from the stream. We got to Clear Creek Camp around three that afternoon. Camp was set up and then we went to the black powder shooting activity. None of us hit the targets and we blame the exhaustion from the days hike.

We did not do much the rest of the evening. The only energy we expended was to cook dinner and pump(filter) water for everyone to have tomorrow.

While he currently spends his time hiking in the backcountry of southern Arizona, he grew up in Missouri, where he was naturally inclined to spend as much time as he could outdoors. Adam’s passion for the outdoors grew as he climbed the ranks of the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts, eventually attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
