2015 Cottage Gear of the Year – Father Nature Outdoors Integrated Camping Blanket

Categories:Featured | Gear | Gear Review | Sleep Systems

I test a large amount of gear in 2015. Many of my favorites come from smaller companies that the outdoor industry calls “Cottage Companies”. The companies are the equivalent to the Technology Industry’s startups. Small in nature, innovative, and extremely flexible. Many of them have flocked to Kickstarter to help get funding to develop their products.

Father Nature Outdoors (FNO) introduced its Integrated Camping Blanket to the market via a Kickstarter Campaign. Their concept was to create a light weight and warm three season sleeping bag replacement.  With it’s unique design, high quality materials this blanket does just that.

Having the foot box similar to that of your standard mummy bag and the pocket for your sleeping pad are a really nice for those of us who tend to move around in our sleep.

What makes the Father Nature Outdoors Integrated Camping Blanket my favorite of 2015?

It takes more than a good product to set itself apart from others in the outdoor industry. The Integrated Camping Blanket is not a an entirely new concept. They took ideas from products already on the market and put their own spin on it making it better. It is light weight compacts down nicely and is perfect for many a backpacking or car camping trips.

I chose this because I find myself using this more than any of my other sleeping bags. I can just drape it over me when I get cold and push it aside when I get too hot. I have yet to be cold using it and have taken it on every camping trip and adventure in 2015. It is without a doubt the only product I had with me at all times.  The founders of Father Nature Outdoor are also what sells the product. Their can do positive spirit and their love for the outdoors helped them craft the concept. From idea inception to completed product they pride themselves and their products on using only the best.
