Spent Friday night after work and Saturday morning at the house doing yard work. Clearing out the back yard of all the extra brush and extra crap away from the fence. Manged to get quite a bit done. The one thing that I really had to worry about was the heat. We were under a heat advisory for the whole weekend. I stayed hydrated and managed not to feel to sore on Sunday. Skipped walking over the weekend and replaced it with the yard work. Continued better eating habits and hardly any soda.
Until next time.
Happy Independence day. I hope that no one has blown off any fingers or ended up in the hospital. The weekend of the 4th of July this year was just awesome. Traveled up north to J’s parents farm and hung out played with the animals and I was asked to grill for their BBQ which was a lot of fun. I miss grilling glad that I will have a nice backyard at the new house to continue grilling for the rest of the summer. I then got to go visit a friend and his family I have not seen for nearly 10 years. It was great to catch up and see them all again. They had a very nice fireworks display with some huge 6 inch shells. Then we headed back to KC to have lunch on Monday with the same friend and then met up with another high school friend I had not seen since 2000. Overall it was a full weekend of fun and great fellowship.
Update on the house front. Finally got the dimensions for the upgrades to the new house as well as the cost estimates. Going to be a very expensive venture but it will be better to send the money now and get what we want and get it all up to code and working now and not have to worry about later. Still living the transient life with some friends until the house is done.
Until Next Time …..
Today I finished moving out of the apartment. All of the left over items have been taken to the house. The rest of the stuff including my pup have all been taken over to a friends house that I will be staying at while the house is still under remodeling. The contractor seems to be running on his own schedule and that schedule is very slow. This upcoming weekend is all about rest and relaxing. With the heat and a huge need to just relax after all of the stress of the move I plan on watching hours of tv and hopefully getting some work done on some other web projects. Who knows what will actually get completed but hopefully something does.
Still keeping up with the better drinking and eating habits. The possibility of needing to add another hole in the belt which is a very nice feeling. Also more walking / hiking is in my near future.
For all of you Americans out there Happy Independence weekend stay safe and stay cool.
Until Tomorrow……
Spent the day moving furniture from the apartment over to the house. Rented a Uhaul truck and we get it done. We started around 1 and manged to get the truck back to the rental location before they closed at 5. One thing that sure hinders moving are stairs and gravity. Some things you can just let go crashing down the stairs like pillows or cushions but most everything else does not fair well with out at least a controlled fall. No matter how you look at it stairs are just no fun going up or down with a heavy load. I have decided that I am not planning on going into the moving business anytime soon. I will leave that to some one else. All of the big stuff is out and now is just packing up all of the stuff that is left over and not already in boxes. Some cleaning also needs to be done before the keys are turned in. I have until Thursday the 30th to get it all done. Wish me luck.
Until Tomorrow….
Whew, finally on the mend. Spent the last half of last week in what could be summed up as a flaming ball of fever. I ended up with some kind of nasty bug but lasted from Wednesday through Sunday providing high fevers, and pretty much any other flu like symptom you can look up in a text book. I am sure glad it is over.
I figure it will take the rest of the week to recover fully and get back to 100% . More packing and moving boxes as we get closer and closer to the end of the month. One thing that is worrying me is the state of the house. The contractor has yet to complete demolition of the portions we are redoing and some time last week while they were working the pipes went haywire. So at present the house is inhabitable. I have managed to find a nice friend with an extra bedroom to let me camp out there until the house is complete. Tonight I get the luxury of going to look at counter tops for the kitchen. Let me tell you I am very excited about that.
My appetite has been quite low for the past week and I am doing my best to continue my healthier eating. I have had a few sodas here and there but nothing like I used to have up to 2 30+ oz cups of soda per day. I am down to maybe one or two sodas per week.
Until Tomorrow……
More Walking on a very beautiful evening. The sun was setting quickly but the moon was full and awesome. As we rounded a corner there she was a Doe eating the grass on the hill of the side of an overpass. It was odd to see a deer on the trail. I did attempt to take a shot of the deer however a biker on the trail spooked him. And all I could get was a shot of its back side.

It is very odd to see deer right in the middle of town. Growing up in the country we would see deer all the time.
I also managed to snap a nice photo of the moon

Until Tomorrow.
Well since i don’t have a whole lot to post about outside of Packing moving and trying to get into shape I figured I would lump the past few into one post. Not really anything new. Work is work. Packing at home.
The one thing I do have to talk about is an old college friend of mine messaged me and said “Know of any good cheap ways to get into shape” She is looking at getting into shape before October for her wedding. She is trying to loose a little bit of weight so that she can fit into a dress. The dress was the last one of a discontinued style so it was either trim down or new dress. She chose to trim down. So we agreed that there are a couple of nice trails to go walking on. Tonight (Day 13) was the first night. It was a lot of fun. We got to catch up with each others lives while we walked. Tonight we managed to walk roughly about 2 miles not really accurate but o well good enough for government work. Next time ill have an pedometer on my phone or maybe ill go buy one.
Until Tomorrow…..
Today my girlfriend J leaves for a week long adventure with a Youth Summer Camp. That is where J and I met 11 years ago. It is a camp for kids with cancer. I attended the camp as a child and then later went back as staff and then had the privilege of sitting on the organizational board (They plan the week of camp and year round events). I had many great years and loved every moment of it while I was on the camp grounds however it was the politics of both the local and national organization that caused me to quit. It was one of those moments when you really hate to quit and walk away but it was just time. I am not a quitter however some times its just better for the cause to step back and let it go. It is very hard to explain why I left to even those closest to me. Only those that knew what was going on and also decided to leave at the same time would understand. I had never been hurt like that in my life. To have something that you love and lived for ripped right out of the core of your being. Every year during the second week of June I see and hear about everyone getting ready. I do miss it and will always have a empty place in my heart for it. I wish them a lot of fun and many great memories.
Until tomorrow….
